The Stars are finally ready to make their season debuts on Friday but they may do so without Klingberg. The All-Star defenseman was missing from practice on Thursday for what head coach Rick Bowness simply called "medical reasons." If Klingberg isn't available, Thomas Harley should suit up in his place and Miro Heiskanen would be on the top power-play unit.

Klingberg has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury but will replace Taylor Fedun in Colorado. Klingberg has scored two goals with 16 assists (18 points) in 34 games this season.

Klingberg will miss his second straight game on Wednesday and likely won’t play Thursday in Vegas either. With Klingberg out, Esa Lindell is expected to continue to quarterback the second power-play unit.

Klingberg missed Friday's game vs. the Red Wings but will travel out west with the Stars, which suggests that he could be back in the lineup this week. Monitor his status following Tuesday's practice and during the morning skate ahead of Wednesday's game.

Klingberg's MRI revealed positive results and the star defenseman could end up missing just a couple of weeks. Klingberg likely won't be out more than a month and his injury opens the door for Miro Heiskanen to play massive minutes at even-strength and on the power-play.

Klingberg left Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury and the initial diagnosis is that he will miss 2-to-4 weeks. Klingberg will undergo an MRI to determine exactly how serious it is and the Stars will likely release a detailed timetable in the coming days.

Klingberg was absent from Monday’s practice but is expected to be in the lineup against the Rangers. Klingberg has been hot as of late, scoring one goal with six assists (seven points) in his last seven games.
