Drouin has been out since mid-November after undergoing wrist surgery on November 18th. Drouin practiced for the second straight day on Wednesday but will need a few more skates before returning to the lineup. Monitor his status heading into their back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday.
Drouin suffered a wrist injury during Friday's game in Washington, was placed on IR on Saturday and will miss several weeks after undergoing surgery on Monday. Tomas Tatar moved back to the top-line with Drouin out and Charles Hudon will likely remain with the team while he is out.
Drouin was levelled by Alex Ovechkin in Friday's game and did not return after suffering an "upper-body" injury. His move to IR means he'll miss at least one week or three games. Charles Hudon was recalled from Laval (AHL) to take his spot on the roster.
Drouin left last night’s win vs. the Senators with a lower-body ailment and it will force him to miss at least tonight’s game vs. Detroit, but his status for Saturday’s home game remains up in the air. This is a tough break for the Habs, who have won three in a row and appeared to be getting back on track. Drouin leads the team with 17 points (5G / 12A) in 25 games this season.
Drouin left Tuesday’s game with an upper-body injury and did not return. Drouin missed Wednesday’s practice and head coach Claude Julien said that there’s a 50/50 chance he will play Thursday against Minnesota.
Drouin was the No.3 overall pick in the 2013 draft and carried his success in the 2015-16 playoffs into 2016-17, when he scored 21 goals with 32 assists (53 points) in 73 games. The Canadiens ranked 15th in the NHL in scoring a season ago and Drouin should help them push for the top 10 in 2018.
Drouin missed last Thursday’s game vs. the Flames with an illness, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. Drouin is expected to be back on a line with Brayden Point and Alex Killorn and comes into Monday with 17 goals and 19 assists (36 points) in 51 games this season.
Drouin has been battling the flu for a few weeks, but hasn’t missed any games. He was absent for Wednesday’s practice and is listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s game. It’s unclear whether it is the illness or something else that is bothering Drouin, but monitor his status during warmups at 7:00p.m. ET.
