Quick left the ice first, you know what that means... Wait until warmups, but he is your projected starter.

After missing nearly two months with a grade 2 groin strain, Quick returned to the Kings' crease on Saturday and led them to a 3-1 win.

Quick allowed a goal mid-way through the first period but stopped the remaining shots, totalling 27 saves on 28 shots (.964 SV%). Quick showed no rust in his return and will likely be back in the crease on Tuesday vs. Minnesota.

Quick leads the Kings onto the ice for warmups; he starts.

Quick will start his first game since November 12 after missing nearly eight weeks with a grade 2 groin strain. Before getting injured he was 10-5-0 with a 2.35 GAA and .905 SV%. He is expected to resume a full workload of starts as he works his way back into shape in the next month leading up to the Sochi Olympics. He will face the Canucks for the second time this season, in the first meeting he stopped 25 of 26 shots in a 5-1 win over November 9.

Jonathan Quick (groin) and Martin Jones left the ice at the exact same time at this morning's game-day skate. The goalie who leaves first is usually an indicator of who is starting, but if they leave at the same time, we really have no clue who gets the call tonight.

Because Darryl Sutter does not disclose who his starter is, we will have to wait until pre-game warmups to see who leads the team onto the ice. Quick is believed to be ready to return to game action, but Sutter could choose to give him a few extra days of rest.

Quick (groin) remains on schedule to return during first week of January.

Quick has been sidelined with a grade-2 groin strain since November 12 but should be back in the crease in the New Year. Quick's absence has been dealt with nicely with Ben Scrivens and Martin Jones playing extremely well. Since Quick went down the Kings are 15-4-4 which has allowed him to fully heal without any worry.

Jonathan Quick
Quick (groin) worked out on ice today and faced some shots at the end of Kings' practice.

Quick is still expected to miss at least another week, but putting the gear back on and taking shots is a definite positive for Quick. The Kings are in a great spot, where they will not need to rush him back because of the way Martin Jones and Ben Scrivens are playing right now. Monitor Quick's status as Christmas draws near.

Jonathan Quick
Kings GM Dean Lombardi said that Jonathan Quick (groin) will be out at least another month.

Quick will likely be out until Christmas, which means Ben Scrivens will serve as a viable fantasy option for another month. Scrivens is 4-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .963 SV% with two shutouts since becoming the Kings starter. For those of you who picked Scrivens up, he is a legit high-end number-2 fantasy backstop option with Quick out. This is a tough break for Quick, because this could hurt his chances of making Team U.S.A's Olympic team.

Kings head coach Darryl Sutter says "our trainer thinks it’s either hamstring or groin-related. So it’s a muscle. Quick is obviously not going to play on this trip, so he might as well be home, and make sure we know what it is, and then go from there."

Quick has been sent back to Los Angeles and Martin Jones has been recalled from Manchester. Quick will be evaluated in L.A and then a timetable will be released.

Jonathan Quick
Kings Coach Darryl Sutter indicated after his postgame news conference the planned course of action was to send Quick to Los Angeles for evaluation by team doctors. He said that was the preferred option instead of having Quick evaluated on the road.

If Quick is sent back to L.A he won't be starting tomorrow vs. the Islanders and could miss Friday's game against the Devils as well. We will await an official word from the Kings.

Jonathan Quick
Los Angeles Kings’ goaltender Jonathan Quick left Tuesday’s game in overtime with an apparent lower-body injury.

Quick stretched to make a save in the extra-frame and then slid back and hit his leg off of the post. Quick stayed down clearly in pain. Quick had an easy night before getting injured, he allowed two goals on 17 shots. Ben Scrivens replaced Quick in overtime and was not forced to make a save. The game went to a shootout where the Sabres scored two of three shots on Scrivens to win 3-2. There is no word one the nature or severity of Quick’s injury but it had the look of a groin injury. He will be evaluated tomorrow and more details will be released.
