Justin Peters News
Peters in net tonight, Muller says.

The Hurricanes are struggling mightily right now and it has all but killed Peters' and Ellis' fantasy values. Peters has just one win in his last five starts with a 3.23 GAA and .895 SV%. He has a fairly tough matchup vs. a red-hot Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals.

Justin Peters is expected to start tonight for Carolina against the @NHLJets. Dan Ellis is on trip and may be backup.

Peters allowed four goals on 34 shots in a 6-4 loss to the Maple Leafs on Thursday. He is expected to be back in net this afternoon vs. the Jets. Peters could make for a good spot start today.

Justin Peters to make the start for #Hurricanes vs #Leafs tonight.

With Dan Ellis still on IR and John Muse yet to play an NHL game, Peters will get the nod tonight in Toronto. Peters has allowed four goals in each of his last two games, which has pushed his GAA up to 3.00. He has a fairly tough matchup against a gritty Maple Leafs team who seem to compete every night.

Justin Peters
From all appearances Peters will be starter in goal.

Peters was great in his first start of the season stopping 37 of the 40 shots (.925 SV%) that he faced. He has a tough matchup vs. a solid Habs team, however Carey Price has allowed 12 goals in his last two starts, so it is a winnable game for Peters.

Justin Peters
Dan Ellis is still sick so Justin Peters will start tonight for Carolina.

The Hurricanes will begin life without Cam Ward tonight and it will be Peters who gets the nod vs. Buffalo. Peters was 22-12-1 with a 2.29 GAA and .921 SV% in the AHL this season. He is 26 years-old so he isn't a rookie stepping between the pipes so he could make for a decent spot-start vs. the Sabres tonight.

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned goaltender Justin Peters to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Peters performed admirably while Cam Ward was sidelined but he falls victim to the numbers game. No reason to own the AHL starter.

Rutherford said Ward would practice today. With Boucher close to returning, Canes face decision on backup goalie with Peters playing well.

Peters is coming off his first career shutout so he might get an opportunity to stay with the team. The 25-year-old has done pretty much all he can at the AHL level.
