Annunen will start Wednesday vs. the Devils.

Annunen was fantastic in his only start of the season, stopping 19 of 20 shots (.950 SV%) in a win over St. Louis his last time out for the Avalanche. The 22-year-old is making his third career start across two seasons, and has a perfect 2-0-0 record, .887 SV% and 1.01 GAA. He will take on the New Jersey Devils, who have won four of their last five games after a 7-0 win over Philadelphia last game.

Annunen played great in his only start of the season with the Avalanche, stopping 19 of 20 shots (.950 SV%) for his first win of the season against St. Louis. With Colorado not playing until Friday, he has been reassigned to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) for the time being.

The Avalanche signed Justus Annunen to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Colorado picked Annunen in the third round of the 2018 draft and is viewed as the potential future in net for them. The 20-year-old netminder was spectacular in the Finnish Elite League in 2019-20, going 15-5-3 while leading the league in both GAA (1.77) and SV% (.920). He also represented Finland at the World Juniors in 2020, where he finished the tournament with a 2.65 GAA and .916 SV% in six starts.
