Schenn will miss two weeks with a shoulder injury.

Schenn suffered the shoulder injury on a hit from Avs’ forward Nathan MacKinnon, who was ejected on the play. MacKinnon will not be suspended, but the injury to Schenn re-opens the door for Carlo Colaiacovo to return to the lineup after being a healthy scratch on Saturday.

The Star’s Kevin McGran reports that the deal is for five years and $18 million, with an annual cap hit of about $3.5 million.

Schenn should continue his rugged play, hitting everything that moves. While he is not known for his offensive side, the 21-year-old has improved his counting stats in each of his three seasons. If your league format counts hits, blocked shots or shots on goal, Schenn should have some niche fantasy hockey value.
