That said, things won't get any easier for Blackwood and the Sharks Tuesday night as they are +269 home underdogs against a Carolina Hurricanes team that has scored 13 goals in their first three games of the season (2-1-0).

Blackwood will see his first action between the pipes as a member of the San Jose Sharks after signing with them in the offseason. Blackwood's career got off to a strong start, going 32-24-8 with a 2.72 GAA and .916 SV% in his first two seasons (70 games). However, he's struggled more in the last three years, going 33-33-10 with a 3.19 GAA and .897 SV%. He fell behind Vitek Vanecek and Akira Schmid on the depth chart, so he heads to San Jose, where he'll likely share time with Kaapo Kahkonen.
