Marc Methot News
The cringe-inducing aftermath of Marc Methot’s “exploded” thumb was sheathed in plastic and wrapped up tight this morning. Methot joined injured forwards Kristian Huselius and Jared Boll for a skate in the Ice Haus while their teammates practiced in the big room. Methot cannot yet wear a glove on his injured hand because of the infection risk but might return this weekend. “Some of the flesh is coming out around the stitches” Methot said. “It’s not very pretty to look at. When I’m at home, I let it air out.”

Gross.

#CBJ D Marc Methot did not skate again today. If he can't go vs. #Stars on Tuesday, Aaron Johnson joins the lineup.

Following some brief fantasy hockey value last season, Methot has regressed offensively. With no points and a minus-4 rating through the Blue Jackets' first five games, don't expect anything out of the Ottawa native.

Also missing yesterday's punish ... err practice was defenseman Marc Methot, who suffered a "tweaked something" in Saturday's game, according to Arniel. Those somethings can heal pretty quickly, but don't know his status for Tuesday.

Should Methot not be able to suit up, look for Aaron Johnson to take over on the team's blue line. Stay tuned for a further update.
