Matt Grzelcyk News
Matt Grzelcyk (upper body) is expected to return to Boston's lineup on November 25th vs. the Rangers.

Grzelcyk last played on October 30th when he exited the game after only 3:29 time-on-ice with an upper-body injury. The offensive defenceman was off to a slow start, tallying only a single point (0G / 1A) in nine games. Grzelcyk will likely play on the third defensive pair when he returns to the lineup.

Matt Grzelyck (upper body) has been placed on the long-term injured reserve.

Grzelcyk suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of the Bruins' 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday and has been placed on long-term injured reserve. Grzelcyk would have been a candidate to see a bump in playing time with Charlie McAvoy (suspension) out of the lineup for the next four games but instead, those duties will likely fall to Hampus Lindholm and Kevin Shattenkirk. The Bruins have also recalled defensemen Mason Lohrei, Ian Mitchell and Parker Wotherspoon.

Grzelcyk (shoulder) will make his season debut on Thursday.

Grzelcyk missed the first four games of the season after getting a procedure done on his shoulder in the summer. Grzelcyk will replace Anton Stralman (visa issues) in the line-up and should see top-4 minutes and PP2 time at the very least. Grzelcyk had four goals and 20 assists (24 points) in 73 games a season ago.

Grzelcyk (shoulder) could play next week.

Grzelcyk continues to make progress and was upgraded to "day-to-day" on Friday. The Bruins anticipate that Grzelcyk could play as soon as the end of next week. Grzelcyk will likely take over for Hampus Lindholm on PP1 while Charlie McAvoy is still sidelined, making him a decent waiver wire addition for teams in need of blueline help.
