The Jets have reassigned Michael Hutchinson to Manitoba (AHL).

Hutchinson only played in two games with the Jets during his call-up, going 2-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .933 SV%. With Steve Mason being activated from IR, Hutchinson returns to the Moose, where he has gone 15-2-1 with a 1.95 GAA and .942 SV% in 21 games.

Hutchinson will make just his second start of the season on Saturday. He stopped 23 of 24 shots in his lone appearance this year in a 3-1 victory over the Jets on January 30th. He went out with a concussion shortly after being recalled to replace the injured Steve Mason as the Jets’ backup. He draws what should be a challenging matchup tonight against the stars.

Hutchinson, who played in the AHL All-Star game on Monday, will make his season debut on Tuesday. Hutchinson has gone 15-2-1 with a 1.95 GAA, .942 SV% and one shutout in 21 games with Manitoba (AHL) this season, making him very deserving of the All-Star bid. As good as he has been at the AHL level, he will be in tough tonight with the first placed Lightning in town.

The Jets have recalled Michael Hutchinson from Manitoba (AHL).

Hutchinson was called up just before the Jets’ bye week to backup Connor Hellebuyck because Steve Mason was sick, so this indicates that something is still amiss with Mason. Hutchinson could see a start during the Jets’ weekend back-to-back and he’s definitely earned it by going 14-2-1 with a 1.94 GAA and .942 SV% in 20 AHL starts.

Hutchinson made 28 saves on 29 shots in the Jets’ win over the Canucks on Sunday. Hellebuyck has gone 3-0-0 with a 1.50 GAA and .951 SV% in his last four appearances. One of those games was against the Ducks, who he faced last Friday, stopping 32 of 34 shots in a 3–1 loss.

Hutchinson stopped all 13 shots that he faced after replacing Connor Hellebuyck in the Jets’ win over the Wild on Sunday. Hutchinson will start for the first time in 65 days—he has gone 2-5-0 with a 3.75 GAA and .877 SV% in four starts and six relief appearance on home ice this season.

Hutchinson allowed three goals on 38 shots in the Jets’ loss in Los Angeles on Saturday. Hutchinson has not recorded a win since December 22nd and is 4-9-3 with a 3.18 GAA and .896 SV% in 14 starts and five relief appearances this season. This afternoon he faces a Sharks team that has lost five of their last seven.

Hutchinson allowed one goal on 23 shots in the Jets’ win in Vancouver last Thursday. Hutchinson has gone 2-2-0 with a 2.34 GAA and .912 SV% in December. Hutchinson will be in deep water tonight against a Blue Jackets team that has won 13 consecutive games while averaging 4.00 goals for and 1.62 goals against per game.
