Hoffman missed Tuesday’s game in New Jersey with a groin injury that he suffered on Sunday. Hoffman is expected to miss Thursday’s game, but monitor his status leading up to the Senators’ back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday.
Hoffman left near the end of the first period and never returned. The winger played just 5:46 TOI before retiring to the dressing room and his status for Tuesday’s game remains unclear. The Senators are already without Bobby Ryan for an extended period of time and they also lost Mark Stone and Tommy Wingels last night.
Hoffman missed Tuesday’s game vs. the Capitals with an illness, but is expected to play vs. the Flames tonight. Hoffman is tied for the team lead with 17 goals and his 34 points is good for third, behind only Erik Karlssson and Mark Stone.

Hoffman served his two-game suspension over the weekend and will return to the lineup tonight in Chicago. Hoffman has led the Senators in goals in both of those seasons and will look to do the same in 2016-17 on their top line, likely alongside the usual suspects—Kyle Turris and Mark Stone.
