Smith to start tonight for the Coyotes.

Smith comes into tonight's game having won his last two starts, and playing great in both of them. He got his first shutout of the year against DAL and then only allowed 1 goal to MIN. Looks like he's starting to get back on track. However he has a tough matchup tonight against the Blackhawks.

#Coyotes going back to Smith tonight.

Smith returned from injury last night and allowed 3 goals on 24 shots in a overtime loss to the Stars. Smith has struggled thus far this season and hasn't lived up to the expectations after his dazzling season last year. He gets another crack at the Stars tonight, hoping for a better result.

Smith will start vs. Blue Jackets.

After just two games this year Smith has given up 10 goals, his save percentage sits at .825 and the Coyotes are 0-2. Smith marveled last year and had a lot of hype coming into this year. Obviously it has only been two games so it isn't time to panic just yet.

#Coyotes Head Coach Dave Tippett: "Smitty, like everybody, has to be a little bit better but if we play like that we've got no chance."

Smith has allowed 10 goals on 57 shots in his two starts of the young season much to the disappointment of his fantasy owners who drafted him among the top goaltenders available.

Mike Smith to get start the second game of a back to back tonight at home versus Chicago.

After losing to Dallas yesterday, it looks like the Coyotes will go back to Smith tonight versus the Blackhawks. If Smith can play like he did last season he would be a good fantasy option yet again.

Mike Smith will start in goal for the Coyotes as they try, for a second time, to clinch the first-round series and advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since moving to Phoenix from Winnipeg in 1996.

No surprise Smith starts game 6.

Yet as the Desert Dogs prepare to contest a playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks, that guy between the pipes is their best shot at forging ahead, pushing into the second round, making some serious noise.

Smith is arguably the hottest goaltender entering the playoffs, having allowed only 2 goals in his last 5 games.
