Soshnikov has just one goal and one assist in his last 15 games and will come out of the lineup tonight to allow Eric Fehr to make his Maple Leafs debut.
Soshnikov was a late scratch for Thursday’s game vs. the Blues and despite skating on Friday, he remains a question mark for Saturday’s contest. This shouldn’t be a huge concern to fantasy players, as the young winger has tallied just four goals and three assists (seven points) in 42 games this season.
Soshnikov, 23, has picked up three points (1G / 2A) in six games with the Toronto Marlies this season. There’s no word whether or not Soshnikov will make his NHL season debut on Tuesday. The Russian winger has five points (2G / 3A) in 11 games with the Maple Leafs last season.
Soshnikov will be scratched from Monday’s game vs. the Flames due to a lower-body injury. Yet another injury for the Maple Leafs, who will thankfully get Leo Komarov back to replace Soshnikov. The rookie has five points (2G / 3A) in his first 11 NHL games.
Soshnikov has skated in 50 regular season games with the Marlies this season, registering 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists). The 22-year-old, who is tied for third with the Marlies in goals, was signed as a free agent by Toronto in March 2015.
