The New York Islanders have signed Oliver Wahlstrom to a one-year, $874,125 contract.

Wahlstrom had seven goals, nine assists, 70 SOG, 32 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 35 games with the New York Islanders in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, $874,125 contract extension. The 23-year-old right-winger was the Islanders first-round pick in 2018 (11th overall) and missed majority of last season due to a knee injury. He has 32 goals and 61 points in 161 games played across four NHL seasons.

Wahlstrom was activated from COVID-19 protocol list on Friday and may play Saturday.

Both Wahlstrom and Anthony Beauvillier were activated and head coach Barry Trotz said it's possible that both will play on Saturday but "one more likely that the other." Monitor Wahlstrom's status as the Islanders hit the ice for warmups at 1:30 PM ET.
