Pavelec has lost six of his last seven games while posting a 3.18 GAA and .886 SV%. Tonight he faces the Avalanche on home ice, where he is 3-7-1 with a 2.70 GAA and .907 SV% on the season.

Tonight, Pavelec will make his third straight start and it will come against a Lightning team that has lost four of their last five while averaging 2.00 goals per game.

Pavelec stopped 21 of 22 shots in the Jets shootout win over the Oilers on Saturday. It was a heck of a return to the crease for Pavelec, who was making his first start in 85 days. He will make a second straight start and it will come vs. a Hurricanes team that has gone 2-1-2 while averaging 2.80 goals per game since the All-Star break.

Pavelec has missed the last 33 games with a knee injury, but is set to return tonight in Edmonton. Before he was hurt, Pavelec was 5-6-1 with a 2.82 GAA and .906 SV% on the year. He draws a fairly tough matchup against an Oilers team playing much better since the return of Connor McDavid.

Pavelec has been out since November 21st, missing a total of 33 games. With Pavelec back, Connor Hellebuyck has been sent back to Manitoba (AHL). The Jets are in action on Saturday, but head coach Paul Maurice would not say whether Pavelec or Michael Hutchinson will start. Pavelec has gone 5-6-1 with a 2.82 GAA and .906 SV% in 13 starts and two relief appearances this season.

Pavelec, who was placed on IR this morning, is expected to be out through December. There was no concrete timetable given, but he will miss at least the entire month of December and could be out through January as well. With Pavelec out, the Jets will turn to Michael Hutchinson and Connor Hellebuyck as their goaltending duo.
