Lindblom is expected to start practicing with his teammates once his quarantine is over and could return in the second or third round if the Flyers advance that far. This is obviously fantastic news for the 23-year-old, who was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma back in mid-December.
Lindblom is dealing with an upper-body injury, leaving the Flyers without two of their top-6 wingers in Colorado. Lindblom joins Travis Konecny on the sideline and will be replaced by David Kase, who was called up on Wednesday morning.
Lindblom has been up for the last three games and will be back up with Flyers on Tuesday, but had to go down today to ensure he can play in the AHL playoffs. He had no points in three games with the Flyers, but if his AHL numbers (16G-18A in 54 games) are any indication, he should produce at this level.
