Byron was listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game and activating him from IR confirms that he will return to the lineup. Dale Weise was sent to Laval (AHL) to clear a roster spot for Byron.
Byron has missed the last six games but was on the ice for the morning skate and could return Tuesday vs. the Blue Jackets. Byron has 10 goals and nine assists (19 points) in 36 games this season.
Byron’s suspension means that he will not play Friday in Columbus, Saturday vs. the Flyers or next Wednesday vs. the Coyotes. Charles Hudon and/or Matthew Peca will likely replace Byron on Friday.
