Francouz is in concussion protocol and is day-to-day.

Francouz was forced to leave Tuesday's game vs. the Jets after being run over by Mark Scheifele and the Avalanche confirmed that he is in concussion protocol. Head coach Jared Bednar said that Francouz is "feeling pretty good" and maybe "only be out another day or two." With both of their top two netminders out, Adam Werner will start in Edmonton.

Francouz allowed two goals on 41 shots in Colorado's win over the Blue Jackets on Saturday. Since taking over for the injured Philipp Grubauer, Francouz has won both of his games while stopping 59 of 65 shots (.908 SV%). He will look to keep rolling in Winnipeg against a Jets team that has gone 4-0-1 with 3.00 goals per game in their last five outings.

Francouz will start Saturday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Francouz allowed four goals on 24 shots in Colorado's win over the Predators on Thursday. With Philipp Grubauer still out, Francouz will start for the second straight game. He has allowed at least three goals in three straight starts, allowing a combined 11 goals on 78 shots (.859 SV%). His numbers aren't great but the Blue Jackets are average on the road--going 3-2-2 with 3.00 goals per game in seven games.

Francouz will start Thursday vs. the Predators.

Francouz allowed three goals on 28 shots in Colorado's loss in Arizona last Saturday. With Philipp Grubauer sidelined, Francouz should get a couple of starts this week, which makes him a worthwhile pickup for owners desperate for goalie starts. He has a .919 SV% in four appearances but the Predators come to town leading the NHL in goal-scoring (4.00 GF/gm).

Francouz gave up four goals on 26 shots in Colorado's loss to the Ducks last Saturday. Francouz has played very sparingly early in the season but has played well when called upon--2-1-0 with a 2.63 GAA and .926 SV%. Tonight he faces a Coyotes team that is 7-4-1 while averaging 2.83 goals per game (19th in the NHL).

Francouz made 34 saves on 36 shots in Colorado’s win over the Coyotes last Saturday. It was an impressive season debut for Francouz, who is now 1-2-0 with a 1.94 GAA and .944 SV% in his first three NHL appearances. The 29-year-old looks like a serviceable NHL backup and will make a good spot-start option some nights, but not tonight in Tampa Bay.

It will be the first start of Francouz's career, although he did make a pair of relief appearances last season, stopping 33 of the 35 shots he faced in those two games. He registered a 27-20-1 record with the AHL's Colorado Eagles last season, posting a 2.68 GAA and a .918 SV%. He's worth considering for a spot start against Arizona if you're desperate for goalie stats.

The Avalanche signed Pavel Francouz to a one-year contract.

Francouz just finished his first full professional season in North America, going 27-20-1 with a 2.68 GAA and .918 SV% in 49 games with the Colorado Eagles (AHL). The 28-year-old Czech netminder also appeared in two games with the Avalanche, stopping 33 of the 35 shots (.943 SV%) he faced in 61 minutes of play. Francouz is expected to start the 2019-20 season with the Eagles.

Francouz is in his first season in the AHL after spending three full seasons in the Czech Republic and three more in the KHL. The 28-year-old netminder has gone 13-5-1 with a 2.61 GAA and .921 SV% in 21 AHL games. Francouz likely won’t even dress on Saturday.
