Pyotr Kochetkov News
Pyotr Kochetkov was the first goalie off the ice at Carolina's morning skate.

Kochetkov has been solid for the Hurricanes over the last month and will likely return to the crease for the seventh time in the last eight games on Tuesday. Kochetkov has helped the Hurricanes collect at least a point in seven of his last eight games (5-1-2), posting a tremendous .930 SV%, giving the team high-caliber goaltending that they had been lacking all season. That said, the Hurricanes are +110 road underdogs against the New York Rangers, a team that is coming off a commanding 5-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning and has been atop the Eastern Conference for most of the season.

The Hurricanes are -130 road favourites against a Nashville Predators team that has lost two of their last three games (1-2-0).

Kochetkov will start in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Kochetkov has almost exclusively been the starter for the Hurricanes the last several weeks and will start for the fifth time in the last six games on Thursday. His competition between the pipes has been underwhelming but Kochetkov has earned the increased workload under his merit, allowing only six combined goals over his last four games (3-0-1), posting a dazzling .946 SV%. The Hurricanes, coming off a convincing 6-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, are -140 road favourites against a Pittsburgh Penguins team that has won three of their last four (3-1-0).

Pyotr Kochetkov will start Tuesday vs. Vegas.

Kochetkov will make his fifth-straight start Tuesday as he hosts the Vegas Golden Nights in Raleigh as he attempts his third win in four games since taking over as full time starter with Antti Raanta placed on waivers. The 24-year-old netminder signed a four-year, $8 million contract in the offseason and has repaid the Hurricanes with a 6-6-2 record, 2.62 GAA and .894 SV%. He will host the powerhouse that is Vegas, who has won five of their last six games and are ninth in the NHL in both shots per game (32.5) and goals per game (3.41).

Kochetkov will start in Detroit on Thursday.

Kochetkov is coming off one of his best starts of the season and will be rewarded with the nod for the second consecutive game on Thursday. The 24-year-old netminder stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Senators, which included a flying poke check to thwart Brady Tkachuk's penalty shot. The outing helped Kochetkov raise his meager SV% to .883 on the season. He's in a great spot to keep things rolling on Thursday with the Hurricanes being -170 favourites in Detroit.

Kochetkov will start in Ottawa on Tuesday.

Over his last two games, Kochetkov has allowed six goals on 33 shots (.818 SV%) as the Hurricanes are in the middle of a season-worst four-game losing skid (0-4-0). Partly due to the Hurricanes' elite shot suppression and defensive style, no goalie has been able to put up elite numbers between the crease, as visible by Kochetkov's 3.12 GAA and .873 SV% in 12 games (4-6-1-). That said, the Hurricanes will need a strong performance from Kochetkov as he faces off against an Ottawa Senators team that has won three of their last four (3-1-0), outscoring their opposition 16-6.

Kochetkov will start Thursday's game in Calgary.

Kochetkov will get an immediate chance to redeem himself after last night's disappointing start in Edmonton. Kochetkov allowed three goals on the first six shots he faced before being lifted in favour of Antti Raanta, who hardly fared any better in the 6-1 defeat. Kochetkov owns an unflattering .871 SV% to go along with a 4-5-1 record on the season. He'll be hoping to get back in the win column on Thursday with the Hurricanes being -125 favourites over the Flames.

Kochetkov will start in Edmonton on Wednesday.

Kochetkov will be back in goal for the Hurricanes on Wednesday after Antti Raanta got the call for Monday's game against the Jets. Kochetkov most recently stopped 20 of the 22 shots he faced enroute to a 6-2 victory over the Sabres on Saturday. He owns a 4-4-1 record and an .883 SV% on the season, and things won't get any easier for the young netminder on Wednesday as he's set to take on Connor McDavid and the Oilers.

Pyotr Kochetkov will start Thursday vs. the New York Islanders.

Kochetkov has been tremendous lately and will start for the third straight game on Thursday as he searches for his third consecutive win. Kochetkov had a rough start to the season as he bounced back and forth between the AHL and NHL as the Hurricanes rotated three goaltenders but has found his footing since Frederik Andersen has been unable to play, recording a stellar .929 SV% in five appearances (3-1-0). The Hurricanes are -182 home favourites against a New York Islanders team that has lost two straight games and ranks third-worst in the league offensively (2.62 GF / GP).
