Kochetkov stopped 20 of 22 shots (.900 SV%) in his first start of the season last Thursday in a 7-2 victory over Edmonton. He draws a very good matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks who rank 31st in the NHL in shots per game (25.7) and 25th in goals per game (2.71).
Kochetkov will get his first NHL start of the season Thursday after posting a 2-2-1 record, along with a 3.00 GAA and .911 SV% with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. He draws the tough start of the Edmonton Oilers, who rank third in the NHL in goals per game (3.79) fueled in part by their 2nd ranked Powerplay which converts at a 32.7% rate.
