Rick DiPietro News
DiPietro was unavailable for comment afterwards and will be evaluated by a doctor later today. He hasn't played a game yet this season and missed six weeks last year with facial fractures that required surgery and a plate in his cheek, as well as the old-style mask to keep pucks from getting near his face.

DiPietro's injury could pave the way for Evgeni Nabokov's return. Last season, the often-maligned starting goalie posted a 8-14-4 record with a 3.44 GAA and .886 SV%. Don't roster him unless fully healthy.

“I was on the ice quite a bit this summer and I’ve done a lot of different things physically as far as being healthy and getting stronger,” DiPietro said. “Lots of yoga and lots of work with the training staff here. I’m excited for the upcoming season.”

DiPietro claims to be fully healthy and could see a great deal of games because of it. If the injury-prone netminder can suit up, he will, due to his albatross of a contract.
