Ryan Johansen News
Johansen (undisclosed) left Tuesday’s game and did not return.

Johansen was rocked by Golden Knights’ forward William Carrier and was forced to exit yesterday’s shutout win and did not return. The Predators did not have an update on Johansen’s status post-game, but the Predators will be without their entire top-line if Johansen misses any time.

Johansen (upper-body) returned to practice on Monday.

Johansen has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury but practiced this morning and could be back in the lineup on Wednesday. Johansen is eligible to come off of IR whenever he is healthy, so expect him to travel on the Predators upcoming road trip.

Johansen is day-to-day with an upper-body injury; not expected to play on Monday.

Johansen was forced to leave Saturday’s game early and was not on the ice for Monday’s morning skate, so don’t expect him to suit up against the Bruins. With Johansen out, Pontus Aberg is expected to draw into the lineup and his linemates Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson are expected to skate on separate lines.

The Predators have acquired Ryan Johansen from the Blue Jackets for Seth Jones.

Johansen quickly fell into John Tortorella’s doghouse as soon as he was hired, but he still managed to record 26 points (6G / 20A) in 38 games this season. Entering the season he was viewed as one of the NHL’s brightest young stars after recording 63 (33G / 30A) and 71 points (26G / 45A) in back-to-back seasons. The Predators desperately needed help in their top-6 and Johansen could slot in on the second line with Colin Wilson and James Neal to start.

Johansen (illness) will not play on Tuesday vs. New Jersey; listed as day-to-day.

Johansen is dealing with an illness that has caused energy loss, which is why he did not play on Saturday, did not practice today and will not play on Tuesday. The Blue Jackets will continue to do tests on Johansen and should release an update on his status in the next few days.

Ryan Johansen
Blue Jackets center Ryan Johansen was “banged up” during a 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday and did not practice this morning. He might not play against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday in Nationwide Arena.

Johansen has six goals and 14 assists and leads the Jackets with 20 points, and averages nearly 20 minutes of ice time per game.

Johansen will be in the Blue Jackets lineup tonight.

Just three days after signing a three-year, $12 million dollar deal, Johansen will throw that Blue Jackets jersey on and lace em up tonight vs. the Sabres. He only has one practice and a gameday skate under him, so you can expect a little rust. With all the injuries in Columbus right now, the Jackets will lean heavily on Johansen and his linemates Nick Foligno and Cam Atkinson.
