Scott Gomez News
Scott Gomez has been training with his teammates, but he will not participate in tonight's game.

Gomez may not fit in the team's lineup upon his return. The diminutive playmaker has one assist through six games.

#canadiens Scott Gomez a patiné ce matin et a recommencé à prendre des lancers. Skated and took shots for the first time.

Good news (or bad news) depending on how you interpret it for the Habs. In his place, Lars Eller holds two assists over eight games. Clearly out of favor in Montreal, it will be interesting to see how coach Jacques Martin uses the diminutive, playmaking center.

Scott Gomez has an upper body injury and will be out for an undetermined period of time. Won't play for at least a week. #Canadiens

The much-hated Gomez has only one assist through his first six games with a minus-1 rating. While out of the lineup, look for him to be replaced by Lars Eller down the middle. Interesting to see how the team performs without Gomez in the lineup.

Gomez did not practice today with Lars Eller moving back to the center position. Stay tuned for a further update on the much-hated pivot.

Scott Gomez participated fully in Thursday drills and will see action in one of the Canadiens weekend exhibition games.

Good news for the day-to-day pivot. Gomez wants to bounce back from his worst NHL season. The 31-year-old could bounce back to the 40 assist and 60 point range but don't expect much more.

“I want to deliver this season. Whether you’ve had a great season or a bad season, we’re now at a new season. Everyone wants to get off to a great start.”

Gomez is certainly on the decline, but remains only one year removed from a 40+ assist season. He certainly won't be on my draft board in mixed leagues but should have some value in much deeper pools and points-leagues that overvalue helpers.
