Mayfield picked up two assists in 14:22 TOI on Wednesday, but with Dennis Seidenberg returning from IR on Thursday, Mayfield was a healthy scratch and has been sent back to Bridgeport.

Mayfield, 23, has recorded 12 points (5G / 7A) in 52 games with Bridgeport this season. He has appeared in three games with the Islanders this year and has eight career NHL games under his belt. He has been recalled because Calvin de Haan was injured in Monday’s win.

Mayfield has been recalled because the Islanders are not sure if Johnny Boychuk will return to the lineup on Tuesday. Mayfield has no points in two games with the Isles and has just six points (3G / 3A) in 38 games with Bridgeport.

Mayfield was a minus-2 in 14:55 TOI in his season debut on Saturday. Mayfield will sit with Marek Zidlicky replacing him vs. the Blue Jackets.
