Thomas Chabot News
"Pretty good chance" that Chabot will play on Tuesday.

Chabot has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but should play Tuesday vs. Montreal. Chabot was on the ice for the Senators' morning skate and while he's officially considered a game-time decision, head coach DJ Smith said that there's a "pretty good chance" that he's back in. Chabot, who has three goals and six assists (nine points) in 17 games, would be replaced by Braydon Coburn if he can't go.

The Senators have signed Thomas Chabot to an eight-year contract extension worth $64 million ($8.0M AAV).

Chabot is coming off of a fantastic sophomore campaign, scoring 14 goals with 41 assists (55 points) in 70 games. The Senators have a young, up-and-coming team and Chabot could lead the team in points in 2020. The 22-year-old has just one career power-play goal, something that will change this season and allow him to approach last year’s totals.

Chabot is week-to-week with a broken toe.

Chabot blocked a shot in the second period of Monday’s loss to the Flyers and played in the third period despite suffering a broken toe. This is a huge loss for the Senators but will help them in their efforts to give the Avalanche the No.1 overall pick this summer. With Chabot hurt, Christian Wolanin and Cody Ceci skated as the Senators top-pairing in Wednesday’s practice.

Chabot (shoulder) will return to the Senators lineup on Wednesday.

Chabot has missed the last eight games with a shoulder injury but is set to play Wednesday vs. the Avalanche. Chabot had an insane pace going before getting hurt, scoring 10 goals with 28 assists (38 points) in 38 games. Chabot is expected to skate with Dylan DeMelo at 5v5 and back on the top power-play unit.
