Dermott has yet to play this season for the Canucks but it was announced Monday that he is week-to-week as he continues to deal with a concussion. After being acquired at the trade deadline last season, he scored a goal and an assist in 17 games with the Vancouver Canucks.
Canucks' General Manager Patrik Allvin spoke with the media Friday night and confirmed Travis Dermott is out indefinitely due to a concussion. Dermott left Tuesday's practice after taking a small hit and feeling a bit off. The 25-yyear-old joined the Canucks after being traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 2022 third round pick at the 2021-22 trade deadline. The young defenseman struggled to find his footing in his first 17 games with the Canucks collecting only 2 points (1G/1A) and only nine shots in his first go with the club. They will hope he is back sooner rather than later as he deals with the concusion.
Dermott has been a healthy scratch for the last three games but will replace Timothy Liljegreen in the lineup on Saturday. Dermott has picked up just five points (1G / 4A) in 42 games this season.
Dermott was a healthy scratch for the last two games but will play Thursday vs. the Penguins. Dermott will replace Timothy Liljegren, who was assigned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) on Wednesday.

Dermott was forced to leave Thursday's game vs. the Canucks with a charley horse and will not be in the lineup for Saturday's rematch. The Maple Leafs have a couple of solid young defensemen sitting on the sidelines, so there is no sense playing Dermott if he's not 100 percent. Mikko Lehtonen will draw into the lineup for him.
Dermott has been held pointless in the first seven games of the season and will be replaced by Mikko Lehtonen on Tuesday.
Dermott was an RFA and gets a one-year, "show-me" deal as we head into the 2021 campaign. In 2020, Dermott matched his career-best of four goals but compiled just 11 points in 56 games. Dermott doesn't have a lot of offensive upside and will likely be a third-pairing defenseman in 2021.
