Motte has become an integral part of the Canucks' fourth-line, posting eight points (4G / 4A) in 34 games while also ranking second among Canucks' forwards in hits and fourth in PK ATOI (2:00).
Motte was injured in San Jose on Wednesday and was sent back to Vancouver to be re-evaluated. Upon further evaluation, it was determined that Motte will miss at least one month with a shoulder issue. Tim Schaller will draw into the lineup to replace him on Saturday.
Motte suffered the injury while blocking a shot on Friday and is expected to miss at least one week. With Motte out, Loui Eriksson will be back in the Canucks lineup on Monday and Adam Gaudette was summoned from Utica (AHL).
Motte is expected to replace Adam Gaudette when the Canucks host the Red Wings on Tuesday. Motte had nine goals and seven assists (16 points) in 74 games with the Canucks last season. He will skate on the fourth line with Jay Beagle and Tim Schaller.
Motte was set to skate on the Canucks fourth line in the season opener but will be replaced by Loui Eriksson. Motte will likely miss the first five or six games of the regular season but should travel on the Canucks east coast road-trip, which starts on October 17th.
Motte scored one goal on two shots with a plus-1 rating in his first two games of the season, but will come out for Tim Schaller on Tuesday.
Motte will replace Jussi Jokinen on the tail-end of a back-to-back and is still searching for his first point with the Canucks. Motte will likely skate on the fourth line.
Motte was a part of the Artemi Panarin trade this summer, but only had five points (3G / 2A) in 31 games with the Blue Jackets this year. He has struggled at the AHL level as well, picking up just 19 goals and eight assists (27 points) in his last 60 AHL games. So this return doesn’t make a lot of sense for the Canucks.
Motte has scored three goals and one assist in 29 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has picked up eight points (6G / 2A) in nine games with Cleveland and will likely play on Thursday after it was announced Sonny Milano will miss 4-6 weeks.
Motte, 22, has three goals and one assist in 19 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He returns to Cleveland where he has seven points (5G / 2A) in seven AHL contests.
Motte was acquired along with Artemi Panarin this offseason and it looks like he could make his Blue Jackets debut on Monday. Motte has been recalled because Cam Atkinson (lower-body) is banged up. Motte has collected five goals and two assists (seven points) in seven AHL games and has seven career NHL points (4G / 3A) in 33 games with the Blackhawks.
