Toffoli is a great offensive talent who many believed was going to make the Kings roster. He will start the season in the AHL but will likely be the first player called up when the Kings need someone.

He’s averaged 11:55 minutes per game and one of his goals came on the power play. Toffoli played in 58 games with Manchester this season, recording 51 points (28-23=51), 18 penalty minutes and a plus-20 rating.

This likely means Penner drops to the 4th line and Nolan sits out tonight.

Los Angeles’ second round draft pick in 2010, Toffoli broke out with a 107-point campaign as an 18-year old with the Ottawa 67’s in 2010-11, tying for the Ontario Hockey League scoring lead while leading the league in goals scored with 57. He followed that up with a 100-point season (52-48=100) in 2011-12, leading the league in goals for the second straight year with 52.

Toffoli should be returned to Juniors shortly. The right wing dominated the OHL last season, posting 57 goals and 108 points with the Ottawa 67s. Keep an eye out for him in a few years.
