Barrie has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury but is set to play Wednesday in Washington. It's unclear whether or not Barrie will reclaim his spot on the top PP unit or not, but it seems likely. He had three goals and 14 assists (17 points) in 35 games before getting hurt.

Barrie is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and questionable to play Wednesday.

Barrie left Monday's game in Calgary and did not return. He tested it prior to the third period but didn't feel right and went back to the dressing room. The Oilers have signed Tyson Barrie to a one-year deal worth $3.75M.

Barrie's time in Toronto didn't go quite as planned. He finished 2020 with just 39 points (5G / 34A) in 70 games. It's hard to forget that he was sixth among defensemen in points (116) with the Avalanche in the two previous years combined, so the Oilers get a talented offensive-defensemen. Barrie signs a one-year deal to be the quarterback of the NHL's top power-play in an attempt to build his value back up before he hits the market again next year. This move also buys Oilers' prospect Evan Bouchard another year of development.
