Victor Mete News
The Canadiens have signed Victor Mete to a one-year extension worth $735K.

Mete has been a staple on the Habs' blueline over the last two seasons but following the addition of Joel Edmundson and promotion of Alexander Romanov, Mete will likely be the No.7 defenseman in Montreal in 2021. He has compiled four goals and 27 assists (31 points) in 171 career NHL games.

Mete (lower-body) did not travel to Boston for Sunday's game.

Mete was forced to leave Saturday's game against Philadelphia with a lower-body and did not return. Head coach Claude Julien told reporters postgame that Mete will not accompany the team to Boston, so look for Mike Reilly or Brett Kulak to draw into the lineup for him.

Mete (hand) has returned to Montreal; will not play on Saturday.

Mete was hurt in the Canadiens’ win in Brooklyn last night. He played just 5:48 TOI before departing the contest and will be replaced by Jordie Benn, who served as a healthy scratch last night. Mete is being re-evaluated in Montreal, but consider him day-to-day for now.
