Olofsson is expected to skate alongside Peyton Krebs and Zemgus Girgensons on the Sabres' fourth line. He has four goals and eight assists in 30 games this season.

Olofsson has played 22 consecutive games for the Sabres but is expected to be a healthy scratch on Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Olofsson is averaging 11:58 time-on-ice this season but has seen that total dip as low as 6:43 during a nine-game stretch where he has only recorded a single point (0G / 1A).

The 28-goal-man from last season is expected to be a healthy scratch Tuesday night after poor back-to-back performances to start the season. In two games, Olofsson has zero points, one shot, and a -2 plus/minus rating. Tyson Jost will enter the Sabres lineup as his replacement.

In his first three NHL seasons, Olofsson has averaged 24 goals and 32 assists (56 points) per 82 games. Olofsson finished the 2021-22 season on a heater, scoring 13 goals with 12 assists (25 points) in his final 28 games.

Olofsson missed Wednesday's game in Montreal but will be back in the lineup in St. Louis. Olofsson will skate on a line with Casey Mittelstadt and Peyton Krebs and comes in with just four points (2G / 2A) in his last 16 games.

Olofsson was not on the ice for Tuesday's practice and will not travel to Montreal for Wednesday's game. Casey Mittelstadt moved to the wing in practice to replace Olofsson.

Olofsson has missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury and will not play Monday in Washington either. Head coach Don Granato said that Olofsson is improving but remains day-to-day and could play vs. the Maple Leafs on Friday.

Olofsson was shaken up after losing his balance and crashing into the post at Saturday's practice. Olofsson tried to return to the skate following a video session but ended up retiring to the dressing room shortly after. Following the practice the Sabres said that Olofsson is still being evaluated, so consider him day-to-day until more information is released.
