Tonight McIntyre will make his third career NHL start. In his first two he allowed a combined eight goals on 54 shots (.852 SV%). Despite his struggles at the NHL level, McIntyre has gone 10-0-0 with a 1.41 GAA and .951 SV% with Providence (AHL). He could make for a decent spot-start if you’re desperate.

McIntyre, 24, has been excellent in Providence this season, going 10-0-0 with a 1.41 GAA and .951 SV%. With Anton Khudobin clearing waivers earlier in the week, he heads to Providence and McIntyre is coming up to be Tuukka Rask’s backup.

McIntyre allowed five goals on 31 shots in the Bruins loss in New York on October 26th. Tuukka Rask started the last five games, but he will get the night off on the second of a back-to-back. McIntyre, who has a .854 SV% in two starts, will be in deep water on the road versus Carey Price.

McIntyre stopped 15 of 17 shots after replacing Malcolm Subban in the Bruins’ 5-0 loss to the Wild last night. It was a fairly impressive relief effort for McIntyre, who will make his first career NHL start tonight. McIntyre draws a rough matchup against the 4-2-0 Rangers, who will start Henrik Lundqvist tonight.

The Bruins are down two goalies with both Tuukka Rask and Anton Khudobin battling injuries, so McIntyre has been recalled and is expected to back-up Malcolm Subban, who was recalled on Monday. McIntyre is 1-0-0 with a 0.44 GAA and .977 SV% in three AHL appearances this season.
