Bishop between the pipes for the Lightning.

Bishop stopped all 28 shots the Red Wings threw his way in a 3-0 win on Sunday. It was his NHL leading third shutout of the season and 17th win, which is tied for second. He has a good matchup tonight when the Lightning travel to Long Island to take on the Islanders.

The Minnesota Wild has swapped a couple of forwards with Iowa (AHL). The club has recalled forward Erik Haula from the Iowa Wild and reassigned forward Jason Zucker.

Zucker was recalled on December 10 and appeared in Wednesday’s game at Anaheim. The 21-year-old has registered 18 shots in seven games with Minnesota this season and owns seven points (4G / 3A) in 33 career NHL games with the Wild. Zucker has tallied 12 points (7G / 5A) and 49 PIMs in 16 games with Iowa this season.

Bishop starts for the Lightning.

Bishop was banged up for five goals on 31 shots (.839 SV%) in a 6-5 shootout loss to the Capitals on Tuesday. The Lightning did not play great and the game was a constant parade to the penalty box for both teams. As I always say, a matchup with Alex Ovechkin is dangerous and boy was that ever true on Tuesday. The Russian sniper potted four of the Capitals five goals. He draws a slightly easier matchup against a Red Wings team struggling to close out games.

Bishop turned aside 33 of 34 shots in a 3-1 win over the Senators last Thursday. Bishop has been great lately - he has allowed only five goals in his last five starts while posting a .969 SV%. He carries a 5-3-1 / 1.97 GAA / .932 SV% road record into Washington tonight to take on the Capitals.

No surprise that Ben Bishop will get the start in net

Bishop allowed one goal on 21 shots, but still walked away with the loss on Tuesday. The Lightning couldn't beat a combination of Sergei Bobrovsky and Curtis McElhinney. Despite only walking away with one win in his last four starts, Bishop has been fantastic, posting a 0.99 GAA and .969 SV%.

Bishop left practice on Tuesday with an apparent hand injury, but he will be between the pipes today. The injury was obviously nothing serious as he faces the Penguins tonight. It is a very difficult matchup, but Bishop has stopped 78 of the last 79 shots he's faced in his last two starts.

The Lightning seemed to dodge a bullet Wednesday as G Ben Bishop left the morning skate with a yelp of pain after taking a puck off his right hand near his thumb.

Excellent news for the Lightning and Bishop owners as it looks like he'll be able to make his next start. Bishop has a sparkling 14-3-1 record and is finally providing the Lightning with reliable goaltending.

Bishop (hand) left the ice in frustration after taking a shot in the hand this morning.

Anders Lindback will start tonight, but not because Bishop is hurt, because it was scheduled. Bishop or coach Jon Cooper offered much insight on the injury other that to say "I'm OK" and "he is fine. It sounds like the Lightning dodged a bullet and Bishop could be in net on Friday. Monitor his status tomorrow and Friday just to be sure that he is fine.

Bishop allowed one goal on 41 shots on Friday, however that goal came in overtime which means it was the game-winner. It was a tough loss for Bishop, who has now dropped three straight. It is not surprising that the Lightning are struggling to score without Steven Stamkos. They have just six goals in their last four games and until they start scoring, their success hinges on Ben Bishop's efforts in net.

Bishop starts in Anaheim.

Bishop gave up five goals on 31 shots in a loss to the Kings on Tuesday. It was his second rough outing that resulted in a loss but he will look to snap the Lightning's three game skid tonight vs. Anaheim. He stopped 24 of 25 shots in a win over the Ducks in Tampa Bay on November 14.

Zucker will play with Jason Pominville and Mikael Granlund.

Zucker was recalled this morning and will get in the lineup for his second game of the season. Zucker is a fan favorite in Minnesota, so Wild fans should be excited to see him skate on the second line. The move forces, Nino Niederreiter down to the third line and Justin Fontaine to the fourth. Torrey Mitchell who appeared to be injured last night will be scratched.

The WIld have recalled Jason Zucker from Iowa (AHL).

Zucker seemed to be a shoo-in to make the roster before training camp began, but the emergence of Mikael Granlund and Nino Niederreiter cost Zucker his opening night gig because Zucker would be a waste on the fourth line. Zucker also strained his groin at an inopportune part of training camp. Zucker has tallied four goals and eight points, including three power-play goals, in 12 games with Iowa this season. Zucker played one scoreless game for the Wild earlier this season.

As expected, Ben Bishop gets the start tonight.

Bishop gave up three goals on 14 shots before departing the game after 21:45. Bishop took a shot off of the mask and there were worries about his collarbone, but he shot down any injury reports by saying he was fine in a post-game interview. He gets the nod vs. the Kings as he looks to continue his stellar November (6-0-0 / 1.69 GAA / .944 SV%).

Bishop allowed a single goal on 25 shots in a win over the Ducks on Thursday. It was Bishop's sixth straight win and the eighth straight game he has allowed two or less goals. Bishop is taking the NHL by storm right now and he will look to extend his winning streak to seven tonight vs. Phoenix.
