In response to the Coyle injury, one week after Jason Zucker was the final cut in training camp, the 2010 second-round pick was recalled from AHL Iowa before even playing his first game.

Zucker, the speedster left wing, scored four goals in 20 games last season and an overtime winner in the playoffs. Coach Mike Yeo says it's too early to determine the plans going forward and the Wild felt it was time to give Zucker a shot, but my guess:

Jason Zucker
Bishop off the ice first for Lightning. Gets the start tonight vs. Blackhawks.

Bishop will get his first start of the season tonight against the Blackhawks. He went 3-4-1 with a 2.99 GAA and .917 SV% after being traded to the Lightning at the deadline. With the Stanley Cup Champs in town it is a tough matchup for Bishop.

Ben Bishop
Zucker impressed in his first game since straining his groin in the preseason opener. He scored the shootout winner, assisted on the third-period tying goal and most impressively caught coach Mike Yeo’s eye by hustling to beat out an icing to force a late power play that extended into overtime.

“He has moments in these games where he’s able to create chances, able to draw penalties, and that’s the kind of player he is. And that’s huge,” Yeo said. “I didn’t like his first period. I thought that he got stronger in the second period and in the third period, he changed the game.”

Jason Zucker
Left wing Jason Zucker, looking to win the second-line left wing spot or third-line right wing spot in training camp, returned to practice this morning after missing the past four days with a groin injury.

Zucker said it felt "absolutely perfect" in today's practice and coach Mike Yeo said there's a very good chance he plays Monday's preseason game in Columbus. He had 50 points in 55 games in the AHL last season and four goals in 20 games with the Wild.

Ben Bishop starts for Tampa

Bishop has allowed 12 goals over his last 3 starts - getting pulled after the first period in one of them. While things haven't gone his way, he's getting the opportunity to be the goalie of the future for the Lightning. Until the team improves in front of him, however, don't count on him for much.

Ben Bishop in goal tonight for #TBLightning, the team announces.

Bishop allowed three goals on 27 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Islanders last night. He will get the his third start in four days tonight against the Capitals. Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom have been firing on all cylinders lately, so be wary of the matchup.

Red Wings recall Riley Sheahan from Grand Rapids

Wings coach Mike Babcock mentioned last week that he wanted to have a look at forward Riley Sheahan. He may get his chance Sunday. Sheahan was recalled from Grand Rapids on Saturday. He has 16 goals and 19 assists in 67 games with the Griffins this season.

Riley Sheahan
Bishop first goalie off the ice, expected to be starter tonight

Bishop was fantastic in his first start as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He stopped all 45 shots that he faced in a 5-0 win over the Hurricanes. After a start like that I think it is very safe to assume he will start again tonight. He has fairly good matchup vs. John Tavares and the Islanders.
