The Sabres signed Henri Jokiharju to a one-year deal worth $3.1 million.

The Sabres and Jokiharju avoid arbitration by agreeing on a one-year deal worth $3.1 million. Jokiharju will be a UFA when the contract is up next July. The 25-year-old blueliner is coming off of the best offensive season of his career, posting a career-best 20 points (3G / 17A) in 74 games. Expect him to be the Sabres' No.4 or No.5 defenseman this year, depending on the status of Matias Samuelsson.

The Sabres have acquired Tyler Tullio and Ryan McLeod from the Oilers for Matthew Savoie.

The Oilers selected Tullio in the fifth-round (No.126 overall) in 2020 and he spent the last two season in Bakersfield (AHL). During the 2023-24 season, the 22-year-old winger had nine goals and 12 assists (21 points) in 54 games. Look for him to start the 2024-25 season with Rochester (AHL).

The Sabres have acquired Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio from the Oilers for Matthew Savoie.

McLeod settled in on the Oilers third line and penalty kill during the 2024 season. The 24-year-old centre had career-highs in goals (12), assists (18) and points (30) but became expendable this offseason when the Oilers signed Viktor Arvidsson, Jeff Skinner, Adam Henrique, Mattias Janmark, Connor Brown and Corey Perry. In Buffalo, he should serve as their No.3 centre and provide the Sabres with additional speed and penalty-killing prowess.

The Sabres have signed James Reimer to a one-year deal worth $1.0 million.

Reimer played with the Red Wings last year, going 11-8-2 with a 3.11 GAA and .904 SV% in 25 games (20 starts). The Sabres will be Reimer's sixth team in his 15-year career, and he allows the Sabres to send Devon Levi to the AHL if they choose, as Reimer would serve as Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's backup. If Levi remains with the Sabres, Reimer could be in the mix for starts as the team's No.3 option.

The Sabres signed Felix Sandstrom to a one-year, two-way contract.

After three down seasons in Philadelphia, Felix Sandstrom has signed a one-year, two-way contract with Buffalo as he attempts to resurrect his NHL career. The 27-year-old netminder has appeared in 30 games for the Flyers in the last three seasons and has a 4-18-4 record, 3.66 GAA and .880 SV%.

The Sabres signed Mason Jobst to a one-year, two-way contract.

After two and a half successful seasons with Rochester (AHL), Mason Jobst will remain a Buffalo Sabre after signing a one-year, two-way contract on Monday. The 30-year-old winger has never made an NHL appearance but had 22 goals and 50 points in 64 games played with Rochester in 2023-24.

The Sabres signed Brett Murray to a one-year, two-way contract.

Murray will remain in Buffalo after five successful seasons between Rochester (AHL) and the Sabres after signing a one-year, two-way contract extension on Monday. The 25-year-old only appeared in two games for Buffalo in 2023-24, but made an impact in Rochester with 17 goals and 32 points in 54 games played.

The Sabres signed Josh Dunne to a two-year, two-way contract.

Rochester added to its team depth on Monday as Buffalo signed Josh Dunne to a two-year, two-way contract. The 25-year-old last appeared in the NHL in 2022-23 and has no points in 14 games of experience under his belt. In 2023-24 he had two goals and seven points in 25 games played with Cleveland (AHL).

Bryson will remain a Buffalo Sabre after four successful seasons after signing a one-year, $900,000 contract extension on Monday. The 26-year-old was Buffalo's 2017 4th-round pick (99th overall) and has appeared in 206 career games, picking up four goals and 36 points.

Buffalo added to their defensive depth on Monday after adding veteran Dennis Gilbert to a one-year, $825,000 contract. The 27-year-old reached a career-high in games played (34) in 2023-24 and had a goal, seven points, and 16 PIMs while averaging 12:17 TOI/GP.

The Sabres have signed Jason Zucker to a one-year deal worth $5.0 million.

Zucker spent 2023-24 between Arizona and Nashville but earned himself a one-year deal worth $5 million with the Buffalo Sabres. The 32-year-old will join his fifth NHL team in his 14th season after putting up 14 goals, 32 points, and 81 PIMs in 69 games between the Coyotes and Predators.

Lafferty will join his fourth team in the last three years as he signed a two-year deal worth $4.0 million ($2.0M AAV). with the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. The 29-year-old centre spent one season in Vancouver in 2023-24, finishing with career highs in goals (13), points (24) PIMs (32) and games played (79).

Buffalo made the first splash of Saturday as they acquired left-winger Beck Malenstyn from Washington for the 43rd overall draft pick. The 26-year-old appeared in 81 games with Washington in 2023-24 and had six goals, 21 points, 98 SOG and 25 PIMs.

Clague appeared in three games for the Sabres in 2023-24 and earned himself a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $775,000 on Friday. The 26-year-old defensemen is in his fifth NHL season and has two goals, and 21 points in 94 career NHL games played.

Chicago has acquired Sam Lafferty’s rights from Vancouver alongside Ilya Mikheyev (15% retained) and a 2027 2nd round pick for a 2027 4th round pick.

Lafferty just finished a two-year deal, which he originally signed with the Blackhawks before being traded to Toronto and then to Vancouver. He is a pending UFA, so the Blackhawks have a small window to try and get him under contract before he hits the open market. The 29-year-old centre had career-highs in goals (13) and points (24) during the 2023-24 season.

McLeod was a healthy scratch for the Oilers' previous game but is expected to draw back into for Sam Carrick ahead of Game 4 on Wednesday. The 24-year-old centre had 30 points in 81 games during the regular season but has yet to pick up a point in 14 playoff games while averaging 13:47 TOI/GP.
