The Sabres have acquired Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio from the Oilers for Matthew Savoie.

McLeod settled in on the Oilers third line and penalty kill during the 2024 season. The 24-year-old centre had career-highs in goals (12), assists (18) and points (30) but became expendable this offseason when the Oilers signed Viktor Arvidsson, Jeff Skinner, Adam Henrique, Mattias Janmark, Connor Brown and Corey Perry. In Buffalo, he should serve as their No.3 centre and provide the Sabres with additional speed and penalty-killing prowess.

Anaheim has signed Carson Meyer to a one-year, two-way contract.

Colorado has signed Erik Brannstrom to a one-year, $900,000 contract.

Brannstrom is the type of cheap, sneaky good addition the Avalanche need to make given their salary cap situation. Brannstrom was the No.15 overall pick in 2017 and a huge part of the return for Mark Stone but was not qualified by the Senators this past weekend. Branstrom is coming off a career-best 20 points (3G / 17A) in 76 games and should find a home on Colorado's third-pair.

The Sabres signed Josh Dunne to a two-year, two-way contract.

Rochester added to its team depth on Monday as Buffalo signed Josh Dunne to a two-year, two-way contract. The 25-year-old last appeared in the NHL in 2022-23 and has no points in 14 games of experience under his belt. In 2023-24 he had two goals and seven points in 25 games played with Cleveland (AHL).

McLeod is expected to draw back into the OIlers' lineup for Game 4 on Wednesday vs. Dallas.

McLeod was a healthy scratch for the Oilers' previous game but is expected to draw back into for Sam Carrick ahead of Game 4 on Wednesday. The 24-year-old centre had 30 points in 81 games during the regular season but has yet to pick up a point in 14 playoff games while averaging 13:47 TOI/GP.

Timmins will draw back into Toronto's lineup on Wednesday vs. Tampa Bay.

Timmins has been a healthy scratch for the Maple Leafs' previous three games but will take the spot of Morgan Reilly for Toronto's final game of the season. The 25-year-old missed a large chunk of the season due to Mono but has been productive when called upon, with his one goal, nine points, 24 SOG, 14 PIMs and +7 plus/minus through 24 games played.

Thompson suffered a lower-body injury in Monday's game in Tampa Bay and will not return.

Thompson suffered the injury in the first period and was unable to return. He logged just over three minutes in ice time. The injury effectively brings an end to Thompson's season, as the Sabres have no regular season games remaining after tonight's contest in Tampa Bay.
