Stepan has reportedly suffered no setbacks in his recovery from a fractured fibula he suffered in the preseason. The plan is to have him start practicing and activate him from longterm injured reserve next week and have him in the lineup shortly after. Everything is on schedule for Stepan which is good news for the Rangers.

Stepan stepped on the ice this afternoon for the first time since fracturing hi fibula in the preseason. He remains without a timetable for his return, but skating is a step in the right direction for the Rangers number-1 centre.

Stepan's original timetable was 4-6 weeks and we are approaching the four week point and he has yet to resume skating, so it looks like he won't be returning until the tail-end of the original timetable at best.

Stastny left Saturday's game with an arm injury an did not return. He was injured when he was hit into the boards and was spotted leaving the arena with his arm in a sling. The Blues would only say that he won't play tonight, but would not go any further. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Fast was a healthy scratch in each of the Rangers last two games. He had zero points with three shots and minus-1 rating in the first three games of the year.
Gardiner has been a healthy scratch in the Maple Leafs last two games, but he will be back in the lineup tonight, paired with Morgan Rielly.
