Debrincat (illness) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play in Tuesday's game against the Jets.

DeBrincat was absent from Wednesday's morning skate due to illness but did skate Thursday and was a game-time decision vs. Winnipeg. The 25-year-old has been off to an absurd start during his Detroit tenure as he leads the NHL in goals (9) and is third in points (13) while adding 23 SOG and a +6 plus/minus across seven games thus far in 2023-24.

Alex DeBrincat
Gibson will start in Boston on Thursday.

Gibson returns to the Ducks' crease for Thursday's game against the Bruins after Lukas Dostal got the nod in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Blue Jackets. Gibson has performed admirably to open the campaign with a .907 SV% and a 2.72 GAA through his first three starts, but a lack of goal support still leaves him searching for his first win of the season. Things won't get any easier for Gibson tonight with the Ducks being a +250 road underdog in Boston.

Ian Mitchell has cleared waivers and been reassigned to Providence (AHL).

Mitchell was placed on waivers Wednesday but has been assigned to Providence (AHL) after he passed through unclaimed on Thursday. The 24-year-old had an assist, four PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in two games played with Boston this season. Mitchell was a piece of the trade which saw Taylor Hall head to Chicago in the offseason.

Jacob Bernard-Docker was recalled from Belleville (AHL) on Monday.

Bernard-Docker was recalled by Ottawa after a brief two-game stint with Belleville (AHL) where he had zero points and a +1 plus/minus rating. The 26th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft has two points (0G / 2A) in 33 career NHL games across the last four seasons. He is projected to play alongside Thomas Chabot on the Senators' third defensive pairing.

Gibson will start Sunday's game against the Bruins.

Gibson will start the second half of Anaheim's back-to-back after Lukas Dostal got the start in Saturday's loss to the Coyotes. Gibson has stopped 55 of the 61 shots he's faced through 2 games and has an 0-2-0 record to go along with a 3.06 GAA to show for it. He'll be in tough to pick up his first win of the season tonight against the Bruins.

Berggren will make his season debut against the Flames on Sunday.

Berrgren was recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL) on Friday and will draw into the Red Wings lineup on Sunday. After an impressive first year in North America, scoring 64 points (21G / 43A) in 70 games with Grand Rapids, Berggren became a regular in the lineup for the Red Wings last season where he recorded 28 points (15G / 13A) in 67 games. Bernard-Docker did not pick up a point in his two games played with Belleville (AHL) but has been recalled to Ottawa Friday. John Gibson will start Thursday vs. Dallas.

After serving as backup and watching Lukas Dostal save 32 of 35 shots for the Ducks first victory of the season, Gibson will be back between the pipes on Thursday night. Gibson played well in his only game this season, saving 34 of 37 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite strong showings against the Dallas Stars last season, Gibson and the Ducks will be put to the test as +227 road underdogs. In his two meetings against the Stars last season (1-0-1), Gibson has a 0.96 GAA and .974 SV%.

Cam Talbot will start Thursday vs. Minnesota.

Talbot and the Kings will look to record consecutive wins for the first time this season after an impressive 26-save, 5-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. Mark Scheifele scored with fewer than 80 seconds left to spoil Talbot's shutout bid on Tuesday and spoil an otherwise perfect performance. After two games this season, Talbot has a 2.51 GAA and .921 SV% and looks to be the goalie-of-choice for Todd McLellan and the Kings' coaching staff. Tonight, the Kings are very slight -106 road favourites against a Minnesota Wild team that is coming off a dominant 5-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Talbot will start Tuesday's game in Winnipeg.

Talbot will get his second start of the season on Tuesday night as the Kings faceoff against the Winnipeg Jets. The Kings, who have been outscored 10-7 in their first two games, are +120 road underdogs as they search for the first win of the season (0-1-1). In his first game, Talbot allowed four goals on 36 shots in a 5-2 season-opening loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Talbot has the front track for the starting role in Los Angeles but a strong performance tonight against the Jets will go a long way in garnering him more net security.

Gibson led the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Gibson went 14-31-8 with a 3.99 GAA and .899 SV% in 53 games (52 starts) last year. It was the third time in four years that Gibson led the NHL in losses but the first time he allowed over 200 goals in a season. The Ducks should be a little better in front of him this season, but he remains a low-end fantasy option on most nights. Tonight he faces the Golden Knights, who he was 1-2-0 with a 4.75 GAA and .880 SV% last year.
