Husso (lower body) is expected to be out week-to-week.

Husso left Tuesday's matchup vs. Edmonton due to a lower-body injury and is now expected to be out week-to-week as his season to forget continues. The 29-year-old has struggled when rarely called upon this season with his 9-5-2 record, 3.55 GAA and .892 SV%. Alex Lyon will continue to see the majority of Red Wing starts in his absence as veteran James Reimer backs him up.

Lyon will start on Thursday in Vancouver.

Lyon will be back between the pipes for the Red Wings on Thursday after Ville Husso got the nod in Edmonton on Tuesday. Lyon struggled after being forced into action against the Oilers when Husso left the game with a lower-body injury. Lyon allowed seven goals on 29 shots as the Red Wings fell by a score of 8-4. Lyon will have his hands full again on Thursday as the Red Wings find themselves as +160 underdogs in Vancouver.

Husso will start Tuesday's game in Edmonton.

Husso will make his first start appearance since December 18th, ending a run of eight consecutive starts for Alex Lyon. Husso has managed a strong record of 9-5-2 on the season despite his own personal struggles. The 29-year-old netminder owns an .893 SV% and a 3.53 GAA across 18 appearances. It's hard to imagine a worse matchup for Husso to return to, as the Red Wings find themselves as +185 underdogs in Edmonton against Connor McDavid and the Oilers.

Stevens has cleared waivers and had his contract terminated.

Stevens and the Red Wings have agreed to mutually part ways which has led to the 27-year-old to clear waivers and have his contract terminated. The center was a fifth-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft (125th) by the St. Louis Blues and had 11 points (3G/8A) in 31 games played with Grand Rapids (AHL) this season.

Nolan Stevens
Chiarot (upper body) was a full participant in practice Thursday and had a chance to return Saturday.

Chiarot has not played since January 19th, missing five games with an upper-body injury, but could return to the lineup as soon as Saturday. Chiarot has 12 points (3G / 9A), 84 hits, and 93 blocks in 45 games this season and will likely replace Justin Holl when he is ready to return.

Lyon will start on Saturday vs. Vancouver.

Lyon has emerged as the go-to guy between the pipes for the Red Wings and will start on Saturday when the team returns to the ice for their first game since the All-Star break. Lyon has a 2.51 GAA and .922 SV% in 21 games (13-6-2) but will be hard-pressed for a victory against the high-scoring Vancouver Canucks.

Rafferty has been recalled from Grand Rapids (AHL).

Rafferty had two goals, 14 assists, six PIMs and a +4 plus/minus in 38 games played with Grand Rapids (AHL), and was called up by the Red Wings last week but served as a healthy scratch. The 28-year-old defenseman last appeared in the NHL in 2020-21 with Vancouver and has an assist in three career NHL games played.

Husso (illness) will be out Wednesday vs. Ottawa.

Husso wasn't scheduled to start on Wednesday but will be out of the lineup entirely after coming down with an illness. Husso has not played a game since returning to the lineup last week and will likely continue to be a secondary option between the pipes as long as Alex Lyon continues to give the Red Wings solid goaltending regularly.

Lyon will start Wednesday vs. the Senators.

Lyon will return to the crease for the seventh straight game on Wednesday as the Red Wings look to extend their winning streak to three games before the All-Star break. Lyon has been exceptional during his two-game winning streak, saving 58 of 60 shots (.967 SV%), including one shutout. The Red Wings are -120 home favourites against an Ottawa Senators club with points in six of their last seven outings (4-1-2).
