Talbot stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Oilers win over the Islanders on Thursday. Talbot followed up a three-game losing streak with two straight wins, stopping 62 of 66 shots (.939 SV%). The 30-year-old made 29 saves on 31 shots in a 3-2 win in his first start against the Wild this season.

Gibson has been excellent as of late, but draws a tough matchup in Nashville. In his first start vs. the Predators, Gibson allowed four goals on 29 shots in a 5-2 loss in early-November.

The Blackhawks have signed Erik Gustafsson to a two-year contract extension.

Gustafsson was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season but is now signed through the 2019-20 season. The 25-year-old defenseman was drafted in the fourth round (No.93 overall) in 2012 and has picked up five points (1G / 4A) in 19 games with the Blackhawks this season.
