Gibson (lower-body) was the first goalie off of the ice at the Ducks morning skate.

Gibson stopped all 25 shots that he faced before leaving the Ducks win in Boston on January 30th with a lower-body injury. Gibson went on to miss the last four games, but is expected to start tonight vs. the Oilers. Gibson will be returning against an Oilers team that is still trying to keep their season alive—he stopped 33 of 34 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to Edmonton on January 4th.

Gibson (lower-body) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice but his status for Friday’s game is unclear.

Gibson took part in full practice on Thursday but the Ducks were very tight lipped about whether or not he will be available for Friday’s contest. “I can’t really talk about it,” Gibson told reporters and head coach Randy Carlyle rarely divulges any goaltender information. Monitor his status during Friday’s morning skate, but it looks like Ryan Miller might make a fifth straight start.

Talbot will start Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Talbot allowed two goals on 34 shots in the Oilers win over the Lightning on Monday. Don’t look now, but Talbot has won four of his last five while stopped 143 of 156 shots (.917 SV%) and the Oilers are attempting to get back in the playoff race. Despite the wins, they will be in tough tonight in Los Angeles, where they haven’t won in their last 11 attempts.

Talbot will start vs. the Lightning on Monday.

Talbot (illness) is back in the crease tonight after missing Thursday's game against Colorado. Talbot has had his ups and downs of late; he's won three of his last five but failed to finish the game in both losses. He draws a terrible matchup tonight against Tampa Bay, the league's highest scoring team.

Gibson (lower-body) took part in Monday’s morning skate but isn’t expected to dress in Toronto.

Gibson will miss his third straight game with a lower-body injury, leaving the starting duties to Ryan Miller. However, Gibson’s availability for the skate is a good sign that he might be available for Tuesday’s game in Buffalo.

John Gibson
Gibson (lower-body) is not expected to dress for Thursday’s game.

Gibson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury so Ryan Miller will start in Ottawa and Reto Berra has been recalled from San Diego (AHL) to serve as his backup. The Ducks have not placed Gibson on IR, which suggests that it probably isn’t too serious and he could be back at for one of the next two games.

John Gibson
Gibson missed Wednesday’s practice and is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Gibson was forced to leave Tuesday’s game with under eight minutes left after being drilled by a Patrice Bergeron shot. The two injures are reportedly unrelated but his absence on Wednesday makes him questionable for Thursday’s game in Ottawa. Gibson was great yesterday, stopping all 25 shots that he faced before having to leave, so they’ll want him in the crease tomorrow.

John Gibson
Gibson will start Tuesday in Boston.

Gibson allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Ducks loss to the Jets last Thursday. Gibson has won four of his last six starts while posting a 2.96 GAA and .903 SV%. Gibson’s road numbers aren’t great, but he stopped 40 of 42 shots in a 4-2 win in his first start vs. the Bruins and they’ll be without Brad Marchand (suspended) tonight.

John Gibson
Gibson led the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

Gibson allowed three goals on 44 shots in the Ducks win over the Rangers on Tuesday. Gibson has won four of his last five starts while posting a 2.89 GAA and .905 SV%. Gibson has gone 11-9-2 with a 2.70 GAA and .922 SV% in 23 starts at the Honda Center this season but draws a rough matchup with the Jets in town.

Talbot will start Thursday vs. the Flames.

Talbot allowed four goals on 22 shots in the Oilers loss to the Sabres on Tuesday. Talbot has struggled to a 3.15 GAA and .901 SV% in 38 appearances this season as he continues to be one of the biggest fantasy disappointments. He posted a 27-save shutout in his first start vs. the Flames but he is a risky option on a busy 15-game night across the NHL.
