He has lost three in a row while posting a 2.62 GAA and .941 SV% and tonight he faces a Blackhawks team that has gone 3-4-1 in their last eight games.

The loss snapped a brief two-game winning streak for Smith, who has gone 3-1-2 with a 2.33 GAA and .936 SV% in six starts since returning to the crease. Tonight he faces a Kings team that is coming off of a disappointing loss to San Jose last night.

Smith allowed one goal on 42 shots in the Coyotes’ win in Edmonton on Sunday. He has now won three of his last four starts while posting a 2.53 GAA and .935 SV%. One of those wins came against the Sharks, who he will face again tonight. That evening he stopped 43 of 45 shots in a 3-2 overtime win.

Pickard allowed two goals on 31 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Canucks on Saturday. Despite the loss, it was a strong outing for Pickard, so he will start his second straight game tonight vs. Nashville. Pickard has made three starts on home-ice this season, going 1-1-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .932 SV% at the Pepsi Center.

Caggiula has missed the first 18 games of the season because of a hip injury, but will draw into the lineup on Saturday. The 22-year-old forward is coming off of a season in which he collected 51 points (25G / 25A) in 39 games at the University of North Dakota.

Griffith, 23, failed to record a point in three games with the Maple Leafs after being claimed from Boston, but now he heads to Florida where he’ll likely be given a bigger opportunity. Griffith had 77 points (24G / 53A) in 57 games with Providence (AHL) last season.

Stecher sat out of Monday’s game in Brooklyn, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Rangers. Stecehr will replace Philip Larsen and comes into play with one assist and a minus-3 rating in four games with the Canucks this season. The rookie defenseman will skate on the top-pair with Alex Edler and should see some power-play time as well.
