The Blue Jackets have announced that they have signed goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to a four-year contract extension worth $29.7 million ($7.425 AAV).

Despite the Blue Jackets being extremely banged up all year long, Bobrovsky has managed to go 15-10-2 with a 2.75 GAA and .917 SV%. He is emerging as one of the NHL’s premier goaltenders and is now being paid like it. Bob was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the season, but is now signed through the 2018-19 season.

Bobrovsky to start vs. the Maple Leafs.

Bobrovsky allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Blue Jackets win over the Stars on Tuesday. It was a nice bounce-back for Bob who had a rough outing vs. the Coyotes on the weekend. Tonight he will face a Maple Leafs team in a state of flux—they have a new head coach and have dropped eight of their last 10 games.

Bobrovsky will start in goal for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky gave up four goals on 30 shots in the Blue Jackets loss to the Predators last Monday. He missed this past Satruday’s game with an illness, but will be back in goal tonight vs. the Wild. December wraps up today, but it has been an excellent month to Bob—he is 8-1-1 with a 2.25 GAA and .934 SV% this month.

Bobrovsky starts for the Blue Jackets.

Bobrovsky allowed five goals on 36 shots in the Blue Jackets OT loss to the Capitals on Thursday. The loss snapped his seven game winning streak. He will look to get back in the win column tonight, but it won’t be easy with the Blackhawks in town. Chicago comes into town having won 10 of their last 11 contests.

Bobrovsky gets the nod vs. the Capitals.

Bobrovsky stopped all 30 shots and two out of three shootout attempts in Tuesday’s 1-0 shootout win over the Red Wings. It was Bob’s first shutout of the season and his seventh straight victory. He has posted a ridiculous 1.63 GAA and .950 SV% over the seven-game span and he will look to stay hot tonight vs. the Capitals. He made 39 saves in a 3-2 OT win in Washington last Thursday.

Bobrovsky made 33 saves in Saturday’s 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins. Goalie Bob has been on fire, winning his last six consecutive starts with a 1.91 GAA and .943 SV%. Tonight he will face a Red Wings team looking to avoid a season-high fourth straight loss. The Wings are the league’s seventh highest scoring team, but the way Bob is going right now, he is a safe start.

Barkov (hand) will return to the Panthers’ lineup on Tuesday.

Barkov has missed the last six games with a hand injury that he suffered on December 1st. With Barkov returning, Vincent Trochek is expected to take a seat and could be headed back to San Antonio. Barkov has had a slow start, posting just two goals and two assists in 19 games.
