Perry (knee) will be a game-time decision on Saturday.

The Ducks did not have a morning skate so there is no indication whether Perry will return to the lineup tonight or not. If Perry does not play, Devante Smith-Pelly should move back to the top-line. There should be an announcement when the team arrives at the rink at 6 PM ET, if not we will have to monitor his status during pre-game warmups at 7:30 PM ET.

Corey Perry
Kuemper starts for the Wild.

Kuemper (illness) missed his scheduled start on Tuesday and sat out Wednesday, but he will be back between the pipes tonight in Nashville. Kuemper allowed two goals on 30 shots in a loss to the Sharks in his last start. Despite his recent struggles, Kuemper is 7-3-0 at home this season—however his .885 SV% at Xcel Energy Center is alarming.

Perry (knee) skated on Wednesday; could return next Monday vs. the Sharks.

Perry will miss the next two games, but it sounds like he could be back Monday. After Monday’s game, the Ducks have four games off for the Christmas break, so there is a chance that the Ducks will hold him out of that game and give him the extra four days rest.

Corey Perry
Kuemper did not start Tuesday due to an illness.

Kuemper was scheduled to start last night vs. Chicago, but ended up serving as the backup because he was sick. Michael Russo from the Minnesota Star Tribune said that Kuemper looks like he got “hit by a bus” so he must not be doing very well. He is not expected to be available on Wednesday vs. Boston.

Kuemper will be in goal vs. the Blackhawks.

Kuemper surrendered two goals on 30 shots in Thursday’s loss to the Sharks. Kuemper had a ridiculous start to the year, but now sits at 11-9-0 with a 2.45 GAA and .906 SV%. Tonight he draws a brutal matchup in Chicago. The Blackhawks have won nine of 10. Kuemper is 4-6-0 despite posting a 2.42 GAA and .920 SV%.

Perry is out with a knee injury.

Perry left Friday’s game in the first period after suffering a knee injury and did not return. The Ducks confirmed this afternoon that he is out with no timetable for his return. He will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Anaheim. They have recalled Rickard Rakell from Norfolk (AHL).

Kuemper starts Friday for the Wild.

Kuemper allowed one goal on 19 shots in the Wild’ 2-1 win over the Canadiens on Wednesday. It was a big win over a good Montreal team, but he draws another tough matchup tonight against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. However, Kuemper is 7-2-0 with a 2.08 GAA and .902 SV% at home this season.
