Cayden Primeau has been recalled from Laval (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Jake Allen was announced day-to-day with an upper-body injury so Cayden Primeau has been recalled from the Laval Rockets (AHL) for the first time this season. The 23-year-old has struggled with Laval this season, with his 4-6-3 record, .890 SV% and 3.65 GAA but will back up Samuel Montembeault for Monday's game.

Samuel Montembeault will start Monday vs. Seattle.

Montembeault allowed six goals on 34 shots (.824 SV%) for his fourth loss in five starts as he was defeated by Nashville his last time out. The Canadiens' backup has not performed well when called upon this season, with his 6-5-2 record, 3.44 GAA and .897 SV%. He will face one of the league's hottest teams in the Seattle Kraken, who will be hoping to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Gustav Lindstrom will draw back into the Red Wings' lineup Friday vs. Florida.

Lindstrom last played for the Red Wings on Dec. 14th but will draw back into the lineup Friday vs. Florida as he replaces Jordan Oesterle. The 24-year-old stay-at-home defenseman had one assist, nine SOG and a -9 plus/minus through 17 games with Detroit earlier in the season.

Joel Armia will be a healthy scratch Tuesday vs. Nashville.

Armia will be the odd man out and head to the press box as a healthy scratch as Anthony Richard rejoins the Canadiens' lineup Tuesday vs. Nashville. The 29-year-old has struggled to make an impact at all this season, with three assists, 45 SOG, 10 PIMs and a -7 plus/minus through 26 games.

Savard (upper-body) will return to the Canadiens lineup on Tuesday.

Savard has missed the last 13 games with an upper-body injury but will play Tuesday in Nashville. Savard, who had eight points (1G / 7A) and a minus-4 rating in 24 games before getting hurt, is expected to replace Chris Wideman in the lineup and skate on a pairing with Jordan Harris.

Brendan Gallagher will be back in the Canadiens' lineup Thursday vs. Florida (lower body).

Gallagher has not played since Nov. 29th due to a lower-body injury but will be a game-time decision Thursday as the Canadiens take on the Panthers. The 30-year-old was having a slow start to his season prior to the injury, with only three goals and five assists with 51 SOG through 22 games.

Montembeault allowed two goals on 39 shots (.949 SV%) to snap a two-game losing streak with a win over Arizona in his last start. The 26-year-old has been far and away the better of the two Montreal goaltenders this season, with his 6-3-2 record, 2.89 GAA and .912 SV%. He will face the Florida Panthers, who are looking to snap their current three-game losing skid.
