Price will miss his fifth straight game on Wednesday, but the fact that he is getting on the ice after his teammates today is a good sign in his recovery. He was placed on IR on Monday, but it was retroactive to Feb 27, which means he can return anytime after Thursday.
The move allows the Canadiens room to make a potential addition before Wednesday's trade deadline. It does not necessairly mean that Price's injury is any more serious than originally thought.
