Tonight he has a strong matchup vs. an Avalanche team who have lost five of seven and sit 21st in the league in scoring.

He has actually been overshadowed by Martin Brodeur since Marty signed, but Allen gets another crack agh the Isles tonight; this time at home where he is 4-1-1 with a 2.51 GAA and .893 SV% this season.

Allen allowed four goals on 33 shots in the Blues 4-1 loss to the Blackhawks on Wednesday. Martin Brodeur struggled in his Blues’ debut on Thursday night, so they will go back to Allen this afternoon vs. a red-hot Islanders team. Allen is 4-2-0 with a 2.14 GAA and .929 SV% on the road.

Allen stopped 36 of 38 shots in the Blues’ 3-2 shootout win over the Wild on Saturday. He has won three of his last four with a 2.78 GAA and .901 SV%. Tonight’s will be special for the 24-year-old, who will have future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur as his backup. He draws a tough matchup, but catches a break with Antti Raanta getting the start for Chicago.

Allen stopped 13 of 16 shots in a win over the Oilers last night. It was not the prettiest outing but he got the job done. With Brian Elliott out it is no surprise to see Allen start the back-to-back. Tonight should be a little more difficult in Minnesota.

Allen stopped 15 of 17 shots in relief of the injured Brian Elliott in Tuesday’s shootout loss to the Senators. With Elliott out for at least a few weeks, the crease is all Allen’s for the foreseeable future. He has a 2.12 GAA and .920 SV% in nine games and is a must-start tonight vs. the struggling Oilers.

Allen allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Blues’ 4-1 loss to Montreal on Thursday. The loss snapped Allen’s four-game winning streak, but he should be for great spot-start this afternoon in Winnipeg. Allen is 2-1-0 with a 1.67 GAA and .938 SV% on the road.

Dillon is expected to make his Sharks debut on Saturday.

Dillon was acquired from the Stars on Friday and despite his equipment not making it to San Jose this morning, he is expected to play tonight vs. the Coyotes. Dillon’s defence partner will likely be fluid for a while until the coaches can decide where he fits best.
