Evgenii Dadonov has been placed on the injured reserve (Illness).

Dadonov had not played since October 27th due to illness and had been struggling mightily in his first eight games with the Montreal Canadiens. He had yet to acquire a point this season and only had 10 SOG prior to the injury. The earliest he is eligible to return will be next Tuesday.

Markstrom will start Thursday vs. the Predators.

Markstrom lost his last time out stopping 23 of 26 shots (.885 SV%) in a 3-2 loss to division and provincial rival Edmonton. Markstrom has been okay this season despite his impressive 4-1-0 record, posting a .903 SV% and 2.60 GAA. He faces a struggling Nashville Predators squad who has dropped seven of their last eight contests.

Allen led the Canadiens onto the ice for warmups.

Allen stopped 26 of 30 shots (.867 SV%) in a winning effort his last time out as the Canadiens moved above .500 with a 7-4 win over St.Louis. The 32-year-old has had a solid start to the season, posting a .909 SV% to go along with his 2.86 GAA and 3-3-0 record. He takes on a surging Minnesota Wild team that is coming off a 4-3 victory over Chicago and has gotten points in five of their last six games (4-1-1).

Connor Brown underwent knee surgery and will miss 6-8 months

Brown underwent a surgical procedure on his right knee to reconstruct his torn ACL after he was injured in a game against Vancouver on October 17th. It is a tough loss for Brown and the Capitals after he was acquired in the offseason. In his four games prior to the injury, the 28-year-old had no points and was a -3 plus/minus rating.

Kallgren struggled in his lone start of the season, stopping 15 of 18 shots (.833 SV%) in a 3-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes over a week ago. He gets a great matchup taking on San Jose who is last in the NHL in goals for per game with just 1.88 GF/GP to go along with their 2-7-0 record.

Markstrom will start Tuesday vs. the Penguins.

Markstrom stopped 25 of 27 shots (.926 SV%) in an impressive 3-2 overtime victory over Carolina his last time out. He has struggled so far in 2022-23 despite having an undefeated record (3-0-0) as he has a .882 SV% and 2.93 GAA. They will face the Pittsburgh Penguins team who are coming off their first regulation loss Monday as they were doubled down by the Oilers 6-3.

Allen will start Tuesday vs. the Wild.

Allen will be looking for a bounce-back effort after dropping his previous outing 5-2 while stopping only 25 of 30 shots (.833 SV%) in his worst start of the early season. He and his 2-2-0 record will host Minnesota Tuesday, as the netminder hopes to build off his early .913 SV% and 2.77 GAA. Minnesota has struggled this season (1-3-1) and is also coming off a loss as they dropped their last outing 4-3 in overtime to the Boston Bruins. They currently rank last in the NHL in GA/GP with 5.4 GAA per game.
