Hischier is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Hischier missed Monday’s practice with an upper-body injury that he suffered Saturday during the third period in Boston. Travis Zajac centred the Devils top-line and Blake Coleman slotted in as the second-line centre with Hischier missing. He is day-to-day and unlikely to play on Tuesday.

Bernier will start Thursday vs. the Wild.

Bernier allowed one goal on 12 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in an eventual overtime loss to the Blackhawks on Wednesday. Bernier has made three straight abbreviated appearances, stopping 27 of the 30 shots (.900 SV%) that he has faced. Overall, it hasn’t been a great year for Bernier, who comes into Friday’s game at 1-4-1 with a 2.69 GAA and .904 SV% at Little Caesars Arena.

Markstrom will start Saturday in San Jose.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 38 shots in the Canucks win in Los Angeles on Thursday. Markstrom has not faced the Sharks this season, but has gone 10-10-3 with a 2.84 GAA and .909 SV% on the road this year. He comes in at 3-3-1 with a 2.39GAA and .929 SV% in February.

Allen will start Saturday afternoon in Colorado.

Allen allowed four goals on 44 shots in the Blues win in Nashville last Sunday. With the emergence of Jordan Binnington, Allen has only started twice in the last month of play. He has gone 2-0-0 with a 2.43 GAA and .930 SV% in two starts against the Avalanche this season.
