Florida has placed Adam Boqvist on waivers on Thursday.

Florida acquired Boqvist in the offseason with hopes of having him rediscover the offensive pedigree that led him to being the eighth-overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Unfortunately for both parties, Boqvist struggled to establish himself with the Panthers, averaging 12:51 time-on-ice and scoring six points (2G / 4A) while being limited to only 18 games.

Perunovich (trade) will be a game-time decision vs. Colorado.

Perunovich was acquired for a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft from the St. Louis Blues. Perunovich, a talented offensive defenseman, was the 45th overall pick of the Blues in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft but had trouble establishing his game at the NHL level with the club. He has six points (2G / 4A) in 24 games with the Blues this season and provides needed depth for the Islanders blue line.

Sorokin will start against the Flyers on Friday.

Despite essentially sharing the Islanders' net with Marcus Hogberg the last month, Ilya Sorokin will return to the crease in hopes of his fourth win in his previous five starts. The 29-year-old Russian netminder has struggled more often than not this season, as shown by his 14-14-4 record, 2.81 GAA and .902 SV%. He hosts the surging Philadelphia Flyers, who have won five of their last seven games.

Dobson (lower-body) has been placed on IR.

Dobson exited Monday's 3-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets after 15:38 time-on-ice due to a lower-body injury. The talented 25-year-old defenseman will be sidelined week-to-week but fortunately will not require surgery to address the injury. The Islanders's offense, which ranks third-worst in the league with only 124 goals through 46 games, will greatly miss the services of Dobson's 24 points (6G / 18A) from the blue line. The Islanders signed Tony DeAngelo on Friday as a potential replacement on the top powerplay unit.
